T.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Garden City, Aug. 27, 1937, on Doubleday letterhead to Capt. John Craige regarding a book he was writing titled Black Bogard, about the Marines' occupation of Haiti. In part: "...I have not heard from you since last April...you were going to devote yourself to the history for the next two or three months...My partners have lately been asking me about the book, and I can hardly blame them...How far has it got?...".
