843. FELIX H. ROBERTSON (1839-1928) Confederate brigadier general who became the oldest survivor of his rank. He led a battalion at Chickamauga, commanded Wheeler's artillery and later headed his staff. T.L.S. on his imprinted letterhead, 1p. 4to., Waco, Nov. 4, 1902, to A. S. Fisner, in part: "...You will recall that the late Judicial Convention we were hampered in our plans by a conclusion some of the delegates, who held appointments in departments in Austin, and supposed their duties called them to support the State Administration....It is but fair to Mr. Payne that we...should stand by him..."
