RICHARD STRAUSS
(1864 - 1949) German composer of fifteen operas, including Salome, Der Rosenkavalier and Also Sprach Zarathustra. Fine uninscribed A.M.Q.S. penned on a 6" x 3" sheet (sight), the opening cello bars of his opera Daphne, penned in dark blue ink and signed beneath. Daphne is a one-act opera premiering in 1938 that Strauss subtitled "A Bucolic Tragedy in One Act". Fine condition, handsomely presented with a portrait in a silver and wood frame.
