697. REVOLUTIONARY WAR QUARTERMASTER RECEIPTS A good group of 28 manuscript documents, 1p. ea., mostly oblong 8vo., [various places], 1778-1783, many being orders to deliver supplies and monies from and to quartermaster Nicholas Quackenbush, (1734-1813). The documents concern a variety of supply matters. Articles noted include boards, sugar, tea (including green and Bohea), "10 Pick Axes 4 Bill Hooks" and often simply "goods". Many of the notes are issued to one Henry Hart, a Merchant for unknown reasons. Other documents concern the supply of troops. One document, dated April 13, 1783 certified that "The Field and Staff Officers of Colo Willets Regt. of New York Sate Troops Intitiled [sic] to Forage have not Received any Forage from me or pay of the same..." Condition overall very good with the expected folds and marginal tears. $100-150
