Rare D.S. "Wm. Moore" 1p. 195x318 mm., Philadelphia, 3 Sept. 1782, a rare passport issued to "...Mr. John Reed of the City of Philadelphia [who] hath requested Permission to go to Warwick in the State of new Jersey and to return again; and his Circumstances appearing to the Council to justify the granting of such Permission, DO hereby recommend to all Persons not to molest the said John Reed to the executive of the State of New Jersey for permission to pass accordingly..." With paper seal at the top right. Light folds and toning, marginal tears repaired on verso, else very good.
