GOUVERNEUR MORRIS
(1752 - 1816) American revolutionary, member of the Continental Congress and Constitutional Convention, signer of the Constitution and creator of the terms "dollar" and "cent". Manuscript L.S. "Gouv Morris" 1p. 4to., Paris, Oct. 10, 1789, to Buellen & Co., in part: "...I find by a Letter from Mr. Morris dated the 9th of August that he had not received any Letters from me by this Ship...arrived at Philadelphia. This has given me very great Surprize and Concern...Pray give me Information what became of them. They were of very great Importance...". Boldly signed with a slightly toned vertical fold and ink blot, else very good condition. Floated on a linen mount and presented with a portrait and biographical plaque in a heavy, carved wood frame.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
