Rare partly-printed D.S., 1p. 16mo., Houston, Dec. 7, 1837, a Republic of Texas treasury receipt ordering the payment to soldier John Odenath the sum $44.33 from funds reserved for the military, signed by Texas' comptroller and auditor. Typical toning, else very good. Odenath is listed as a survivor of the War of Independence, and he has signed the receipt on verso.
