914. SERGE PROKOFIEV (1891-1953) Russian composer of Peter and the Wolf, music for the Sergei Eisenstein films Alexander Nevsky and Ivan the Terrible, and numerous operas, ballets and concertos. Superb A.M.Q.S. boldly penned on a 6" x 7" album page, four bars of carefully penned music from his opera "The Love for Three Oranges", inscribed to prominent Russian concert pianist Alexander Sklarevski (1928-1960): "To Sklaravski from Prokofiev wishing great endeavors in America. New York 1920". Light toning, owner's identifying note at lower-left corner, else very good to fine, and quite rare. $3,500 - 4,500
