Two pieces, being presentation gifts from Emperor Hirohito of Japan given to kamikaze pilots prior to their final missions, including a unglazed ceramic dish, 4" diam., with a 1 1/4" relief of a chrysanthemum at center. Housed in the original cardboard box bearing a single character, translated as "Gift". Offered together with a smaller box with two characters at top center, translated as "Return (or official) Gift" containing nine long-filter cigarettes, each bearing a gold chrysanthemum. Both boxes bear much wear but the dish and cigarettes are still intact and surprisingly clean. Two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
