1323. POW CURRENCY FROM RUSTON A rare pair of printed five-cent and ten-cent American prison camp money tickets issued to a German POW detained at Ruston, Louisiana to be used at the prison's canteen. Both bear the same serial number of the prisoner issued to, are dated Nov. 25, 1945 and were cancelled by "V" shape hole punches. Constructed in 1942 Camp Ruston detained over four thousand German POWs before it was closed in 1946 and was considered one of the largest such camps inside the US. Very good. $75-100
