779. FITZ JOHN PORTER (1822-1901) Union major general who fought at Second Bull Run and Antietam. He was later accused by Pope of "disobedience and disloyalty" and was relieved from command. Fine bold signature on a small card, in full: "With pleasure I comply Respectfully yours Fitz John Porter Morristown, N.J. October 30 1885". Slight mounting remains to verso, otherwise very good. $30-50
