POLISH BROADSIDE ANNOUNCES BANKING REGULATIONS UNDER GERMAN OCCUPATION
Large printed broadside in Polish, 24 1/2" x 37", issued in Krakow and dated Oct. 10, 1940, announcing new banking regulations in regards to foreign exchange and the reporting of seized assets under the General Government. In small part: "Ordinance No. 10, Leader of Foreign Exchange''s Meeting at the General Government Office on September 15, 1940. Subject: Reporting of capital relations between the General Government and the rest of the world... Reporting foreign assets to the General Government... Reporting property belonging to natives and persons abroad... Announcement Nr. 1 Emissary Bank conductor in Poland to manage Nr. 10 Head of the Foreign Exchange Department at the General Government Office on September 15, 1940... Subject to the declaration of foreigner''s assets with the General Government... Subject to claims against the rest of the world... Special provisions for refugees and displaced persons... Special regulations regarding bills, coupons and merchandise on commission... Special provisions on contingent debts and receivables...", etc. The broadside is signed in type at the conclusion by the Director of the Emissary Bank of Poland, a Dr. Paersch. Not fully translated by us, worthy of further research. Shows folds with slight splitting thereto, with slight chips to the edges, else very good.
