Description:

PIUS XII
(1939 - 1958) Pope who maintained neutrality in World War II, opposed Catholic collaboration with the Communists and maintained traditional Catholic social doctrine. A beautiful manuscript D.S. "Pius P.P. XII", measuring 11 1/2" x 16", [n.p., n.d.], penned in a fanciful calligraphic hand: "Thomas E. Malloy SUD, Bishop of Brooklyn, and William M. Casey, Rector of St. Vincent's Home for Boys, humbly prostrate at the Feet of Your Holiness, beg the Apostolic Blessing for themselves and for all those Benefactors who whether in general or in particular, have contributed to St. Vincent's...". With an ornate border and a portrait of Pius at left. Light edge wear, overall very good condition, and certainly suited to display.
