(1857 - 1939) AMBROGIO DAMIANI ACHILLE RATI, Pope from 1922-1939 who signed the Laternan Treaty with Mussolini in 1929 establishing Vatican City, later denounced anti-Semitism, Communism and Nazism in encyclicals. Fine S.P., a round portrait by G. Felici of Rome showing the seated Pope giving a blessing on a 13" x 20" mount, and boldly signed on the mount beneath image: "Pius PP XI 16.xi.36". Fine condition, set into a carved gilt frame.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
