Interesting lot of 15 signed items in various formats by well known personalities of the British Empire during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, includes: SIR EVAN NEPEAN A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Nov. 26, 1816, Bombay, as Governor, making an appointment, in part: "...if Capt. Anderson can refrain from lifting his hand too often to his head, he will find it a comfortable provision 'till he gets the rank of major..."; CAROLINE de BOURBON A.N.S. 12 mo., [n.p., n.d.], inquiring about an article that appeared in the journal gazette by Theodore Muret; JOHN CUST free frank "Brownlow"; ARTHUR WELLESLEY PEEL, admittance ticket allowing the bearer into the Gallery of the House of Commons, with scarce full signature; GEORGE SUTHERLAND-LEVESON-GOWER, important A.L.S., 2pp. 4to., House of Lords, May 11, 1832, in part: "…..praying that the reform bill (Scotland) is passed unmutilated ….that if the expectations which these petitioners and thousands had entertained were unfortunately doomed to be again disappointed….the greatest and most obvious evil of the present system would in the first place be removed by the disfranchisement of the nomination 'Boroughs'; SIR HOWARD DOUGLAS A.L.S.,1. 8vo., Apr. 11, 1861, sending best wishes to a fellow Member of Parliament who served in 1842; JAMES CAMPBELL A.Ms. unsigned, 1p. 12mo., Headquarters, Halifax, Aug. 6, 1786, in part: "…..I am commanded by General Campbell to transmit you eight copies of the Royal General Regulations and Orders for his Majesty's Forces, requiring strict conformity and obedience…". Also included: a large group of signed and mounted free frank cover fronts, letters and documents, affixed to both sides of 4to. album sheets, the majority dated between 1820 and 1832, by well known personalities of the British Empire, including: MARBOROUGH, ABERDEEN, DRINKWATER, ERSKINE, BARHAM, STANHOPE, SUSSEX, E.B.
