Description:

ORVILLE WRIGHT
(1871 - 1948) American inventor and a pioneer of flight, Wright, with his brother Wilbur, made the first successful flight of a motor-driven airplane. Exceptional I.S.P. 5 1/2 x 4" sepia, an image of the Wright Flyer as it first left the ground at Kitty Hawk on Dec. 17, 1903, boldly inscribed and signed by Wright at bottom. A small, insignificant and nearly clear spot appears beneath the signature, largely in the margin but barely grazing one letter in signature, else very good to fine. This is NOT the typical printed photo on heavy stock, but rather a real, sharp photograph with high detail!
