Description:

A fine example of a uniform of the "Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps" ("National Socialist Motor Corps"), or NSKK, includes: a service tunic constructed of olive-green wool twill, with flap-covered patch pockets at each hip and breast, closed at front with four pebbled metal buttons. The collar is faced with brown wool and piped with braided aluminum bullion. The left-hand lapel bears a black wool collar tab with three metal pips, indicating the rank of "Sturmfuhrer", while the right-hand tab bears metal numerals giving the designation "43/M83", indicating a member of the 43rd "Motorsturm" ("company") of "Motorstandarte" ("regiment") 83, based in Nuremberg. The right-hand shoulder is fitted with a sewn-in shoulder strap with a black base piped in yellow, indicating "Motorgruppe" ("division") Franken, and faced with aluminum bullion cords. The right-hand sleeve bears an embroidered aluminum bullion NSKK eagle patch over an "Old Fighter's" chevron. The left-hand sleeve bears a sewn-on red wool NSDAP armband with a separately-applied white disk and black ribbon swastika, above a first-pattern driver's diamond of stamped brass on black wool. The interior is lined with brown silk or rayon, with a horizontal slash pocket at each breast, but with no maker's label present. The NSDAP armband shows two small moth nips, with minor wear to the interior, else very good to fine. This particular tunic is shown and described on page 45 of "NSKK-NSFK: Uniforms, Organization and History" by John R. Angolia and David Littlejohn. WITH: a light-brown cotton pullover shirt with four composite buttons, with attachment holes for a starched collar (not present). No labels or markings are present. Very good. WITH: a pair of black wool jodhpur-style trousers, fitted with a diagonal slash pocket at each hip, a flap-covered watch pocket at the right hip and two flap-covered slash pockets at the seat. The front is closed by five black composite buttons, and the waistband is fitted with two external adjustment straps with metal buckles. The leg openings are each secured by five black composite buttons. No marks or labels are present. In very good to fine condition. An excellent set for inclusion in any serious NSDAP uniform collection.
