767. SAMUEL F. B. MORSE An unusual Morse piece, an original pencil portrait accomplished by Morse of Andrew Jackson's former postmaster, Amos Kendall on a 3" x 3" slip of paper. Beneath the profile portrait, someone has identified the portrait as "...Amos Kendal drawn by Prof Morse June 1848..." Before Morse began his immortal career developing the electric telegraph, he was an accomplished portrait painter. Light toning, irregular margins, two contemporary ink smudges, else very good condition. $400 - 600
