MILLARD FILLMORE
(1800 - 1874) Thirteenth President of the United States who succeeded to the presidency upon the death of Taylor. A fine volume from his personal library, Revolutionary History of South Carolina by Francis Hawks, David Swain, and William A. Graham (New York: Putnam, 1853), 237pp. 8vo. hardbound. Signed on front pastedown "Millard Fillmore Oct. 17, 1853", and additionally inscribed to Fillmore by WILLIAM A. GRAHAM on the first free endpaper: "Hon. Millard Fillmore with the respects of Wm. A. Graham". With owner's name penned beneath Fillmore's at bottom of front pastedown. Expected wear to cover, light toning, overall good to very good condition, housed in a custom brown linen clamshell case. From the B. T. Fredericks collection.
