MARIE CURIE(1867 - 1934) French chemist who, with husband Pierre, investigated radioactivity, and discovered radium and polonium. Awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, 1911. T.L.S. "M. Curie", in French, 1p., 8vo., Paris, Nov. 20, 1933, on her personal Faculte Des Sciences De Paris/Institut Du Radium stationery. In part: "...I am sending you herewith a note concerning the very slight modifications to the plan for the apartment which you sent me...I was sorry I could not meet you at your house last Tuesday, as I was indisposed, but I could do so tomorrow...please will you confirm the meeting by telephone...". Very good.
