LYNETTE FROMME (b. 1948) 'Squeaky', follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. Superb content A.L.S. 'R' [Fromme's Family name was 'Red'] with an embroidered patch and transmittal envelope, 8pp. 4to., Alderson, WX, Nov. 11, 198[?], to CHARLES MANSON (1934-2017) incarcerated at Vacaville, Ca. In small part: '...Yes I got the wheel drawing & your cards & letter about the patch...I talked to Mel [Manson's biographer, Nuel Emmons] & he told me the same lies he told Z.I didn't yell...I'm going to cut him from any further communication...' he continues to rant about Emmons, his failure to wire money and to ship boxes, and Fromme's call with Emmons. She continues: '...I was wrong about Mel...he showed us his word was bad. Blue [Family member Sandra Good] said he showed no class...' She mentions receiving a letter from 'Bluegum' and her 'nervous indigestion'. She adds: '...there is some thing stopping me & it's worthless thought pattern. It;'s a form of self destruction having to do with hate. Personal dramas - worthless - yet so deeply carved that it needs to be understood by me....the patches Blue sent would be in property [room]. They had medals attached or at least one rose did...The fli bye w/the sunglasses - He & partner said they know you didn't kill & are not a killer. They said it was ironic that Tex was [?] probably going to get out because he was into religion...sunglasses said you were trying to get over them by sitting on top of the chair...Maybe they wanted to know how I felt about Tex...' Fine condition. Included with this letter is a heart-shaped heavily embroidered black rayon patch, 5 x 4 in., stitched in carmine red, the center depicting an inverted swastika which was a widely-known symbol of Manson and the Manson Family. A superlative letter and relic.
