LINCOLN ASSASSINATION CIVIL WAR ERA DIARY
War-date pocket diary for the year 1865 belonging to Mary A. Burnham in which she makes passing references to both the surrender of Robert E. Lee and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. On April 10, she writes: "I have made doughnuts...sewed some and mended. Lee's army is surrendered." She notes on April 15: "Quite pleasant it rains to night...Mr. Lincoln died at 7 this morning..." Later, on April 19, she writes: "...Very pleasant & windy...I have been out in the village Mr. Lincoln is to be buried to day..." Balance of diary not read. Some wear along the spine.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
