ANTI-MCCLELLAN "SALT RIVER" TICKET
A great piece of 1864 pro-Lincoln campaign propaganda being a small yellow, 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" glazed card board Salt River ticket, entitled: "Biddy Lamenting the Result of the Election", reading, in part: "No use crying Biddy, 'Mac' may have a Position yet…his friends will be down soon from SALT RIVER…yet…". Very good. Salt River Tickets were popular in the mid-1800s, printed by the winning candidate after an election to mock or tease the loser. They likely got their name from the rivers of saline tears shed by the loser and his supporters...

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer.
