HENRY LEE (1756 - 1818) "Light Horse Harry Lee", American soldier and politician, a brilliant cavalry commander in the Revolutionary War, member of the Continental Congress who said of Washington: "First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". Partly-printed D.S. as Governor 1p. folio, Richmond, Feb. 25, 1795, a grant of numerous acres of land to John Piden, bearing a huge bold signature at bottom.
