Description:

KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Lot of two T.Ms.S., 2pp. 4to., 1977 and 1979, the first being the text of his address before the Military Tribunal at Nuremburg stating that the "Fuhrer-prinzip...as a political principle is false...", the second his Order of the Day to the German armed forces, May 1, 1945 announcing that he has assumed command of the armed forces and will continue battling the British and Americans as long as they "...persist in hindering the accomplishment of my primary objective...". Very good.
