Description:

KARL DONITZ
(1891 - 1980) German admiral who headed the U-Boat arm of the German Navy, later succeeded Hitler as Fuehrer after Hitler's suicide. Fine lot of two T.Ms.S., 2pp. 4to., 1973 and 1975, souvenir copies, the first the text of his last communique to the German armed forces sent on May 9, 1945 announcing the cessation of hostilities, the second his address before the Military Tribunal at Nuremburg stating that the "Fuhrer-prinzip...as a politicalprinciple is false...". Very good.
