JOSEPH BONANNO
(1905-2002) Mafia boss of one of the infamous five families crime families of New York City. He was nicknamed Joe Bananas, a name he hated. A collection of four pieces, including an A.L.S. 1p. 12mo., [San Pedro, Calif.], Dec. 7, [19]83 to Therea D'Antonia, Bonanno's companion for the final 25 years of the mobster's life. In part: "...Just to let you know am doing the best I can, under the conditions. Everybody try [sic, tries] to accommodate me in good spirit...you are on visitors list approved...Give my love to your family with blessing Christmas...". With a short postscript signed "JB" and original transmittal envelope addressed in his hand. Together with a signed and inscribed Christmas card from 1989 as well as two envelopes addressed to d'Antonio in his hand. Four pieces in fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
