JOSEF TISO
(1887-1947) Slovak politician and priest, the head of the Nazi satellite Slovak State involved in the deportation and massacre of Jews, convicted and hung at war's end. Uncommon war-date T.L.S. 1p. 4to., Bratislava, Jan. 5, 1940, his presidential letterhead to General Lieutenant Franz Barckhausen (1882-1956), German General of Artillery, in part: "...Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your friendly New Year's wishes, which I sincerely reciprocate...". At the time of this letter, Barckhausen was serving as head of the German Military Mission in Slovakia. File holes at left, else very good condition. Sold with an original (unsigned) real photo postcard.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
