Description:

(JOHN WESLEY HARDIN) Partly-printed D.S. 1p. 8vo., Gonzales Co., Texas, Oct. 15, 1872 signed by Hardin's family members and cronies JAMES CLEMENTS, JOSEPH HARDIN CLEMENTS and GEORGE C. TENNILLE. Tennille and the Clements brothers sided with John Wesley Hardin in supporting the Taylor family in Texas' longest and bloodiest feud, the Sutton-Taylor Feud. The Clements were Hardin's cousins, and were each married to one of George Tennille's daughters. Tennille himself was murdered in 1874 by a Sutton posse, some of whom were later killed, likely by John Wesley Hardin. These Clements were also the sons of notorious Mannen Clements and brothers of Emanuel. Fine condition.
