Description:

JOHN WAYNE GACY
(1942 - 1994) Notorious mass murderer of over thirty young men whom he buried beneath his home, executed after many appeals and postponements. Fine content T.L.S. "John" 1p. 4to., in prison at Peoria, Mar. 20, 1993, to his nephew Donald McCloud, whom he addresses as "Bum". In part: "...Hey thanks for your letter and belated birthday greeting...Yes Ken and Edward Black are both writing and waiting to come down...GG got out March 11th...most of my art is selling for a much higher price [than]when you were buying it. The shows and galleries mark it up 1000%. Enclosed is a clip as to why Maury Povich ran the show on my art. Hey its ratings and exploiting me is the name of the game as I never thought they would give me a full hour...advertising my paintings in color they had 20 pieces on display...while the comments were negative and that was to be expected...the sale and demand have gone wild. I just finished an interview in New York for a mag called 'Expressions of Dread'...[my] appeal is in federal courts just more waiting time...having a field day saying it is my last appeal but I wouldn't bet on it...". Indeed, Gacy hung on for another year until his execution on May 10, 1994. With original envelope, fine.
