Description:

(1942 - 1994) Notorious mass murderer of over thirty young men whom he buried beneath his home, executed after many appeals and postponements. T.L.S. "John", 2pp. 4to., Menard Correctional Center, July 24, 1985. Gacy continues his correspondence with our consignor, a regular pen-pal, in small part: "...Sorry to hear that you didn't get a chance to take the vacation, what a way to go... I haven't had a vacation in the last six year, but I guess they wouldn't look to kindly on that here. Not to make your problem less serious, I just had to throw that in... So happy belated birthday, 25, you never mention if your were married or not, and if I seem nosey its because I find the more you learn about a person the more you can relate too in writing... [all sic]" Gacy goes on to answer some questions about his Multiple Sclerosis, and continues: "...You mention that you had read 'Killer Clown'. What did you think of it? [Prosecutor Terry] Sullivan has an ego problem, thinking he was a man for all offices. He wanted to be the big man, make the arrest, put the case together, and the be the prosecutor too. Not long after my case, he was involved in missing drugs from the states attorneys office and that why he left. But that never made the papers, because he was one of the good guys... the only factual parts is what they got from the trial records, which is based on the state theory and fantasy. Factually there are only two things which I believe are facts one that I own the house on Summerdale, and two they found 29 bodies on that property. None else has ever been proven to be a fact, but by stipulation from by attorney, and the ones who represented me sold me out for the money...[all sic]" Much more good content besides. He signs at the conclusion in blue ink. Gacy also transmits several news clippings related to his treatment in prison (present). Three retained copies of his correspondent's letters, to which Gacy responds, and Gacy's transmittal envelope are also present.
