California agriculture is playing an important role in bringing new life and hope to millions of people throughout the world. The abundance of your farms and ranches is fundamental to the success of the Food for Peace Program..." Boldly signed, "John Kennedy". In January 1961, as one of his first official acts, Kennedy signed an Executive Order expanding the Food for Peace Program.
