JOHN F. KENNEDY
(1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the United States. Kennedy faced-down the Kruschev during the Cuban Missile Crisis, re-invigorated NASA, and signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Assassinated November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. A.N., [unsigned], 1p, 12mo., n.d. [1960], [Pittsburgh], to William D. McClellan, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. Kennedy was due to speak at the hotel during the 1960 Presidential campaign, but bowed out: "...You will explain my infected throat? And that my brother Ted will speak for me..." Kennedy dashes off an additional notation to the left of his message: "Ted 1 1/2 min:" Written in blue ink, minor folds, else fine.
