Description:

Jimi Hendrix's Guitar Strap, 1968
This is one of two guitar straps given to friend and fellow guitarist Larry Lee by Jimi Hendrix in 1969. In July 1969, Hendrix enlisted Lee to become a member of Gypsy Suns and Rainbows, the band that would play at the Woodstock festival in August 1969. Lee's association with Hendrix began in 1962, playing in several bands with Hendrix, including the Bonnevilles and the King Kasuals. In his original 1986 letter of authenticity for Jimi's black Fender Stratocaster, Lee relates, in part "...During this time, Jimi gave me many gifts, some of his personal clothes (which I wore at the famous Woodstock performance,) a Marshall guitar amplifier, some guitar pedals, guitar straps...and the black Fender Stratocaster..." This multi-colored strap with repetitive diamond-shaped motif is in fine condition.
