A pair of thanksgiving broadsides from Massachusetts. The first, a broadside, 1p. folio, Boston, Oct, 16, 1807, is titled "Commonwealth of Massachusetts. By His Excellency James Sullivan, Esq. ... A proclamation, for a day of public thanksgiving and praise, throughout the commonwealth..." A good example of Shaw & Shoemaker 13026. Marginal wear and fold separations reinforced with paper on verso, some ink transfer from folded storage, light foxing. OCLC identifies only two extant institutional copies of this imprint including one at the Boston Athenaeum and the other at the American Antiquarian Society. Offered together a second edition of the same imprint, but in very sorry condition with significant losses to text. Together, two pieces.
