Description:

JAMES R. FORD
Business manager of Ford's Theater and brother of John T. Ford, he was likely the first to tell Booth of Lee's surrender and helped decorate Lincoln's box the day of the assassination. Good content A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Baltimore, Apr. 1, 1894 sending the only photo he had taken in his 25 years of "theatrical experience", adding: "...I enclose you a copy of an original [theater play]bill of April 14, 1865 where you will see my name as Business Manager...". Very good.
