Description:

JAMES MONROE
(1758 - 1831) Fifth President of the United States who negotiated the Louisiana Purchase and promulgated the Monroe Doctrine. Superb, un-engrossed D.S. as President, a four language ship's paper, 1p. folio, [Washington, n.d.] bearing superb signatures by Monroe and JOHN QUINCY ADAMS as Secretary of State. Two blind-embossed seals entirely intact, and in very good to fine condition. Handsomely matted with portraits, and set into a gilt frame. Certainly worthy of display, as it bears two of the finest signature of the current and future President.
