(1751 - 1836) Fourth President of the United States considered the "Father of the Constitution", he authored the Federalist papers and sponsored the Bill of Rights. Partly-printed D.S. as President, 1p. Sm. Folio, Washington, Oct. 1, 1811, a grant of land in Columbiana County, Ohio to one Samuel Davies, co-signed by secretary of State and future president JAMES MONROE. Last name just a bit light, Monroe's signature and engrossment are bold, with paper seal, overall very good. Set into a gilt wood frame.
