Polk" as President, 1p. folio on vellum, Washington, Feb. 17, 1848, an appointment of Herman M. Cady as a 1st Lieutenant in the 15th U.S. Infantry. Countersigned by Secretary of War WILLIAM L. MARCY as Secretary of State. Mounted, engrossment a bit light, light soiling, else very good. Matted with a portrait of Polk.
