Description:

JAMES D. WATSON AND FRANCIS CRICK
A superb and very rare original drawing of a DNA double helix, penned on an 8 1/2" x 11" stiff sheet by JAMES D. WATSON, the first scientist to observe the structure of DNA in 1952. Executed in black ink and inscribed at top: "for Peter". Additionally signed in dark black ink by British physicist FRANCIS CRICK, one of the co-discoverers of DNA in 1953. He, James D. Watson, and Maurice Wilkins were together awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize. Fine condition. Certainly one of the rarer pairings of signatures!
