E.S. as Provost Marshal on verso of a partly-printed D.S. 1p. 4to., Washington, Nov. 10, 1865, an official Treasury department order that the Adjutant general "...Inform this office the date of appointment & acceptance of W. W. White Captain to Provost Marshal 18th District...". Endorsed on verso by Adjutant General, and Fry, as provost Marshal. Folds, slight splitting to edges, staple at top and slight loss to right corner, good.
