WILLIAM HULL (1753-1825) American soldier and politician, he fought with distinction in the Revolutionary War, but in the War of 1812 was duped into surrendering Detroit and barely escaped execution for his incompetence. Nice grouping of material includes concluding portion of a document and a signature "William Hull Justice of Peace", a list of 55 conveyances of Hull, taken from Middlesex Co., Mass., 1795-1803, a registration of a deed given by Hull, a court judgment of $7,167 made against Hull in 1804, and an 1805 deed to Hull for a tract of land in Vermont. Overall very good. $150-250
