HIROHITO
(1901 - 1989) Emperor of Japan revered as a god by his people, leader of Japan through World War II who ultimately made the decision to capitulate. Scarce and desirable D.S. in Japanese, 2pp. 9.75 x 13.5 in., November 10, 1967, an official diplomatic letter of state to the President of Bolivia, an endorsement of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Ken Usui. In part: 'Mr. Ken Usui's important mission has come to an end...in accordance with the provisions of the Constitutions of Japan...Usui devoted all his efforts to the...friendly relations which so happily exist between our two countries...'. The document is signed on the second page with Hirohito's black ink signature and large red chop mark and is similarly countersigned by two other government officials. In fine condition, with a few faint creases, a touch of wear to edges, and slight offsetting of red ink to opposite page. Sold with a French translation.
