1684. CHARLTON HESTON (b. 1923) American film actor, a leading man who won an Academy Award for Ben Hur, and also starred in The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Show On Earth. Fine typescript D.S. 1. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], entitled "Civil Rights March on Washington, August 28, 1963", being Heston's recollections of his participation in the historic event, in small part: "...It was a stirring day...and I'm proud to have been part of it. They were all there: Belafonte, Lancaster, Poitier, Brando. There were many individual voices raised eloquently throughout the day: Dr. King, Marian Anderson, etc. But the true voice was the people's...". Along with an S.P. 8" x 10" color, showing Heston in knight's uniform in role, boldly signed. Two pieces, fine condition. $100-150
