1683. KATHARINE HEPBURN (1909-2003) American actress and Academy Award winner who was perfect playing opposite co-star Spencer Tracy. Good content T.L.S. 1p. 4to., [n.p.] Feb. 28, 1978 with lengthy autograph postscript thanking Sheila Husberg for a gift, a letter from J. M. Barrie to her father Robert Watson. Barrie, author of The Little Minister which became a 1934 film starring Katherine Hepburn and John Beal, in which Barrie expresses how pleased he was with Hepburn's performance. Robert Watson was a technical director on the film. Here, Hepburn thanks Husberg for the letter adding "I remember your father very well. My goodness - it seems like another life. All such funny memories. I am so please to know that J. M. Barrie was happy to have me do it. I must say he is the only author who has committed himself on paper...". Husburg did not have Hepburn's address, asked actor John Wayne to forward it to her on her behalf. Hepburn adds in the postscript that "It was so very thoughtful of you to send it to me - I have written John [Wayne] to thank him for being the carrier..." A fine association piece accompanied by a letter of provenance from Sheila Husberg. Light horizontal creases. otherwise very fine. $100-150
