Lot 1682
1682. FRED GWYNNE (1926-1993) American actor whose career spanned from "On the Waterfront" in 1954 to "My Cousin Vinny" in 1992, but was best loved as his role as TV's lovable Herman Munster. An LP record album, Hallmark's "The Littlest Angel" cast album from the NBC-TV musical special, starring Gwynne with legendary crooner Cab Calloway, "The Odd Couple" star Tony Randall and "Family Affair" child star, little JOHNNIE WHITAKER (b. 1959). The album folds out to an elaborate gate-fold "pop-up" design with heavenly cloud and rainbow shapes, and a color photo spread inside, boldly signed in marker "Fred Gwynne" and "Johnnie Whitaker". Vinyl record included, a "white label promo" promotional copy, featuring original cast recordings of Whitaker singing with Gwynne, Cab Calloway, Tony Randall, Connie Stevens and others. LP jacket very good with light ring and shelf wear. Disc good. A campy, kitschy item providing hours of listening fun, this unlikely grouping of celebrities paired Gwynne with the red-headed Whitaker who also starred in "Squigmond the Sea Monster" on Saturday mornings, later becoming a disillusioned ex-child star with drug problems. $75-100
