Fine content T.L.S. as President, 1p. 8vo., Washington, Mar. 5, 1949, on White House letterhead to George M. Arrowsmith, possibly a line officer in the 129th F.A., his old unit. In part: "...Thanks a lot for your good letter...I am more than happy that you and Anne enjoyed the visit here. My only difficulty was that I didn't have an opportunity to see as much of the members of the organization as I wanted to. I was very proud of them when they marched down the street in the Inaugural Parade. I don't believe that the situation in the Veterans Administration will not entail any serious difficulty...". With original envelope. One light crease at bottom, very good.
