NATHANIEL GREENE (1742-1786) American Revolutionary General who served with distinction as Quartermaster General and later commanding the Southern Department, successfully thwarting British efforts to subdue the southern states. Concluding portion of an A.L.S. "Your most obed't humble ser N. Greene" addressed to a "Capt. Hutchins", with a second signature on verso: "Mrs. Greene". Dated "Dec. 25, 1782" penned in another hand, else very good. Matted with an engraving and framed in wood. $800-1,200
