GRACE KING
(1852-1932) American author of Louisiana stories, history, and biography and a leader in historical and literary activities. Fine content A.Ms.S, 1p. 8vo., New Orleans, Apr. 28, 1895, a possibly unpublished page from her original manuscript New Orleans - The Place and the People (1895), in part: "Nothing was silent about the old cemetery but the dead themselves - nothing respectable; all the wishes and confusion that had harassed them in life were here to harrow the atmosphere above their rest...all the world and ugliness of an undergrowth poplar...". Boldly written, very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
