HENRY JAMES
(1843 - 1916) American author of The Awkward Age and The Turn of the Screw, among many novels. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. oblong 12mo., New York, Oct. 21, 1867, a paycheck drawn on The National Bank of the Republic for $100.00 to "Henry James, Jr.". Signed by William Conant Church, James' publisher and editor of The Galaxy Magazine, for which James wrote many articles. Signed on verso along with a second Henry James, almost certainly his father. Slit cancels clear of signature, light wear, very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
